midpoint reflection

My internship is way better then before because now I know how to deal with those kids because I understand them better then before. There is a big different between my internship and my school because my internship is just after school program also is not a regular school and is only for helping a home work and for project also there are two groups of kids that arrive there first one which is that old group that come every Mondays and Wednesdays and the second one which is the youngest kids this group come every Tuesdays and Thursdays, and every Fridays the both groups come well sometimes only f they need help in project or homework. Well the thing the I learned and I always wanted to learn is how being a patient person with a kids which that help me a lot because in the future I want to be a kids doctor because I love kids and now I know how to be patient and sweet with them and I don’t make them sad or mad. My relationship with my mentor just hi and bye and sometimes like playing games with a kids, well my mentor is really nice and he always help me when I need it, but I don’t always talk to him because sometimes I feel shy to talk to him but when I need help yes I have to ask for it. I felt like am growing much better in how to act with kids and of course being nice and sweet and patient with them. Even though my internship there are all Arabic however I speak English with them because most of them have been born here in America even some of them doesn’t but they all speak English very well and we all use English even they are speak Arabic they don’t use it that much most of the time they use English with each others, which that mean I improve my English a lot by talking to each others. Another skills that I learned is about the Arab American family support center which is about this center was a long time ago and it was about helping kids by their homework and by doing their project and doing activities so the skill that I learned is by how to help kids and how to ask them if they need help. My hard time is when I finish my work at 4:30pm and get home at almost 6:00pm and trying to cleaning the house and the time trying to finish my homework and study which I have to stay up till 12:00 am to finish my work and then come to school late which if I come to school I will lose 5 points from the Do Now which I hate before I use to do my Do Now and never loose points but now I do that’s when I have a hard time. My goal is to do a good job at my internship. Also is to help the kids as much as I can and to be there for them when they need my help.

four weeks into internship

The full name of my internship site is Arab American Family Support Center. I work for kids and help them by their homework or project. Also making activities to them including valentine day, spring break, Halloween day, Christmas, a different type of holidays. So I do fun activities with them, also I play games with them, I make teams for the girls and boys, I make posters, I hang it out, I also recognize the classroom before the kids arrived. My site provide at a program after school, by doing homework, project, those kind of stuff. What I do regularly is help kids y doing their homework and help them in their project. There are questions I would like to ask is how MR Paul is so patient with kids? How does he give hint to students while he helping them in their homework? Why does the kids likes him? Whenever my mentor doing homework with kids and he helping them he don’t just give them the answer he give them hint if they don’t get it he make it more clear to them s they can understand it. One memorable thing that happened at my internship was I have to go stand at the bored and write some things, so I was very nervous and everybody was staring at me, so it was really not good at that moment. What I enjoy about my internship is that some kids are been nice to me and respect me and appreciate the job that I do to them, also I enjoy the time that I spend with the kids by helping them and having fun while we doing activities and stuff like that. There is nothing challenge for me at my internship so everything going well there, and am proud of what am doing over there.

My site located in borough hall, court street 150. I leave the school at 1:45 or 1:30 pm and it take me about 50 minutes or an hour. I arrive at home at 5:30 or 45 pm it depends in how the train or the bus. My schedule is I come to my internship at 2:30 till 4:30 everyday. My mentor sign my time card for me which is MR Paul or sometimes his assistance Jack.

Extra credit

My internship has changed a lot from my first week because I was nervous, and feel wired when am around the kids, and I never talk to them, I just help them and that’s it. However now we get more along with each others because now I know all of their names and so as them. Also I became more friendly with them, when some of them finish their homework I play games with them, also I make activities to them and now they love me, and so am I. and things are getting better now because, and everything is going well now.

my first two weeks of my internship

My job at my internship is really cool and I like it all the time, I like it because some kids are being nice and act sweet with me also, when they need help some of them ask in a nice way whenever they need help, also I love all of them. I do a lot of activities to the kids, and I help them by doing their homework and also, I recognize the classroom before the kids arrive, Also I do a lot of games with them in the class, and we do a lot of fun activities in the class, I make posters I hang it on the wall, I make teams, boys team, girls team. So the first day was really horrible and that day I don’t know how to deal with kids so, I was really nervous and uncomfortable when I arrived there I was shaking actually and I was really scared how am I going to deal with this kids? Are the kids going to like me? What am I going to do with them? Am I patient in this point? I question my self all this questions so I was really nervous, at the time I deal with them and they deal with me, we get to know each others, and do a lot of games together, and having fun with them and we cool. There is nothing to be afraid of that’s what I realize when I spend more time with them.My thought when I got there at the first day I thought that kids are not going to like me or they going to be mean so I have feeling that something bad going to happen at the first day that’s was my thought also I thought that I might not work well at my first day and my first job.
